Necessary corrections were made to my party wall, yet KB Home refused to open the rest of my party wall. Other homes are also not to building plans on the party walls and no change orders were submitted to the building department.
Emails from Mike Hamilton who is a licensed contractor and the one who exposed the lack of supports on the envelope of my home.  News footage here:  Mike Hamilton – Lacking supports
“Roxanne, a party wall is a structural separation between two units and is required for the integrity of the entire building.  If any part of the party wall is structurally inadequate that inadequacy effects the entire building.  Meaning if any section of the party wall is incorrect it endangers all owners in the building.  Fire, wind, weight and smoke are only a few of the dangers party walls protect you and the other owners within the common structure supported by party walls from. The only sure remedy is to replace the entire party wall and all party walls have to be checked and replaced if defects are found.”
“Rox, the party wall is incorrectly done.  The four 2 x 4 Stud-Jack Post isn’t centered to the two supporting walls one has one 2 x 4 for support the other has three 2 x 4 studs.  The Jack Post isn’t hurricane strapped to the plate.  The thread count exposed must be a minimum of (3) threads exposed I’m not able to count the exposed threads from the picture.  Yes, all tie down all threads must be firmly tight, not loose.  The single 2 x 4 studs aren’t hurricane strapped either. ALL ITEMS CALLED OUT CONSTITUTE A FAILURE, THE ENTIRE WALL HAS TO BE OPENED AND CORRECTED!”
Below are pictures of my party wall missing proper supports/connectors. We were missing the proper supports on the envelope of the building, what are the chances we actually have them in on the party walls?
