SEVEN YEARS OF HELL WITH NO END IN SIGHT!

Went through forced arbitration, hiring an attorney becasue KB refusing to honor the work agreement they signed, Mistake, they didn’t mean to do that work. Can’t sell or rent my home. This is the email I received 9/28/16. Seriously, don’t buy a KB Home.

SENT ON BEHALF OF TRAVIS W. COPE

Ms. Miller:

I am acknowledging receipt of your most recent e-mail and responding on behalf of all the KB recipients.  KB believes that it has exhausted all reasonable efforts to resolve your concerns amicably, the most recent being the Work Agreement you referenced in your e-mail.  Unfortunately, I do not believe there to be any benefit in our continuing to discuss these issues AND WE WILL NOT BE RESPONDING TO YOUR EMAILS.  To the extent you believe engaging yet another attorney is in your best interests, please ask that attorney to give me a call.

Sincerely,

Travis W. Cope

I bought my home September, 2009 and moved out in April 2010. My house was filled with mold and ongoing shoddy repairs during the seven months I lived there. It is now September, 2016 and my home still has water intrusion, mold, flooring issues, ceiling falling down, etc, etc……

I had to pay to live elsewhere, while still paying taxes, association fees, etc. A new home unfit/unsafe to live in. I went through forced arbitration, KB Home claims it wasn’t forced. If you refuse to honor your warranty and stop water intrusion and other repairs, it’s forced. This cost me tens of thousands of dollars. Can you risk or afford it? I didn’t accept the arbitration award, it didn’t cover all the items that needed repair, nor do you receive your legal fees back.

Turns out I wasn’t the only “isolated” case (A word KB Home loves to use), it was our whole complex, 270 homes were lacking supports, balconies collapsing, water intrusion and mold. We aren’t the only complex with issues. Notice the banner on top of the page, this is happening all over and not just in Florida. KB Home has a history of not honoring their warranty and not building properly.

ABC said it was 70 million dollars to repair our complex, far more than what it cost to build. Imagine having a single family home fighting on your own, knowing the cost to repair would far exceed the value of your home.

KB Home has all the time and money to fight you. The average buyer cannot afford taking KB Home to court. Many walk away from their homes.

During repairs of my home, I was given a mold clearance.  I know KB Home all to well and hired my own licensed inspector who found mold. The fight went on. I came to a work agreement with KB Home, only to have them screw me over by walking off the job. I am now left in a house I can’t sell or rent. Most of my belongings ruined from their lack of care. The latest estimate to repair my home far exceeds the cost of my home is $377,000. I’m sure I will have to hire an attorney again to fight this out. KB’s goal is to cost you and wear you out.
